Lssd School Swim

The Lord Selkirk School Division Policy E-13 states that students of the School Division take swimming in grades 4, 5, 7 and 10 as part of the Phys Ed Curriculum. There are approximately 1500 LSSD students currently take the Red Cross Swim @ School Program delivered by 2 veteran instructors - employees of LSSD.
Grade 4 & 5 have 6 - 1 hr classes per year. Grade 7's have 7 - 1 hr classes per year which is a modified program combining the Swim @ School program and the Grade 10 swim curriculum.  The grade 7 swim program is a graded evaluated program which prepares students for the Grade 10 mandatory Phys Ed swimming credit.

Outside divisional schools

We provide 2 options for schools outside of our division to take Red Cross swimming lessons during the school day at our pool. If your school is interested in having swimming lessons please contact the pool manager to discuss options.
